2 of their friends-of-honor are co-founders of Chyro Arts – a non-profit, totally volunteer venue that puts on plays, concerts, etc. It is this fantastic little unique locale in Scottsdale. (Interestingly, one of my future grooms just played there with his band).

It was the perfect location for this truly unique, family/friend-centered wedding.

Matt and Abriel took time to eat, say hi to people and cut the cake …

Then, Abriel’s family had planned this whole montage to honor her. A TOTAL surprise. Complete with photos, sound clips and video. About her musical background, her instruments, her favorite bands.

So much laughing and joy and love in the room, just by bringing up these memories…

The evening was so relaxed. No bouquet toss or toasts. But instead, Matt and Abriel encouraged their friends to prepare something for an ‘Open Mic.’ … Which Abriel took advantage of by singing to her new husband. So so sweet (I cried – but only a little. And I was using auto-focus so we’re good).

Such a fun fun fun night!

I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again.
I wish I lived closer to Matt and Abriel so we could hang out. They are SO much fun.

I will be in Phoenix in September to photograph a wedding (hi Abriel!) and I wanted to make the bit of free time I have over the weekend available if anyone wants to get a head start on their Christmas family photos.

Because I will be in town anyway, and because you are my loyal blog readers, I’m offering a huge discount on my normal rate for mini-shoots.

The current normal rate is $345 for about an hour shoot.

This weekend only, I will be offering mini-shoots (about 30 min) for less than half price.

$150 will get you:

• About 20-30 minutes of my time and photography. I shoot pretty fast, so it should be more than enough time to get a few “money shots,” as well as some fun candids and maybe even individual portraits.
• As many family members as you would like (usually I set the limit at 5 without incurring an extra fee)
• Any location in the Phoenix area you like. I realize it is still ridiculously hot, but keep in mind your living room is still a great place for family photos.
• A disc of the high-resolution images fully enhanced and edited for your personal. Ready for printing, for framing, or Christmas cards.
• All of this (including disc received by Oct 31) in plenty of time for the holidays

Availability:
Currently I am open all day Sept 27 (Saturday) and until noon Sept 28 (Sunday) — after which I will be driving back to SoCal with no immediate plans to return to AZ.
