As I mentioned, they came down from Oregon for their destination wedding at Wayfarer’s Chapel in Palos Verdes.

Since they were only in town for the wedding and there was only a select number of family and friends in attendance, there was not a big reception planned here in California.

The bad news is that means no fun reception photos …. the good news is I got a FULL hour (plus) for portraits…

So luxurious.

(note: brides and grooms, this is why I love doing a ‘first look’ before the ceremony. So much more time for portraits)

We took some on the grounds of the Wayfarer’s Chapel, and then  down the road a little to the Terranea Resort (where Kristian and Stephanie spent their wedding night) for some gorgeous beach portraits.

They’re back from their Bahamas honeymoon and I think they’ve started looking for a bigger apartment (need room for all those wedding gifts).

It’s really amazing how many photos I managed to take, considering I was IN the wedding ….

Since Keith and Shannon did a First Look, they had ALL their portraits done before the ceremony and were able to enjoy their cocktail hour with their guests (and gave me time to get some shots of the details in the reception before the guests came in)!

Pear Valley hosts the cocktail hour in their tasting room, with a totally separate hall for the reception….. Because of the amount of guests Keith and Shannon had, the dancing and DJ was outside on the courtyard.

Gorgeous!

Keith and Shannon chose a vineyard for their wedding as a very personal connection to their relationship. They have been dating for several years and have taken many (many) trips up to central California for a relaxing wine weekend. They particularly like Paso Robles, so I think finding Pear Valley for their wedding was just perfect!

The vineyard essentially gave us full rein over the property …. When we started portraits, they opened up the barrel room for us:

Keith and Shannon got married back in April in Paso Robles, CA at Pear Valley Vineyards.

Although the were getting ready for the wedding separately they chose to see each other before hand and do all their portraits before the wedding.

I *love love love* when couples choose to do a ‘First Look’ in private before the ceremony, rather than waiting til she is walking down the aisle to see each other. I think I’ll wait and do a special post on *WHY* this rocks my socks off…

In the meantime…. We were able to shoot all over the vineyard (thanks Pear Valley!) and started off the portraits with Keith and Shannon’s First Look!

This couple’s story is sweet – they met “by accident.” Literally. She rear-ended him on a SoCal freeway and he charmed his way into a date I guess

Due to scheduling and locations, I didn’t join [b]ecker (and Cody, the other 2nd photographer from the [b] school) until not long before the ceremony.

I feel like I didn’t really get to shoot the whole story since I missed the getting ready part, but the ceremony and reception were both so gorgeous.

The reception was held at Pacific Palms Resort. Cocktail hour, toasts, salads …and a Korean wedding ceremony to honor the groom’s family.

2 of the bridesmaids performed a dance …

Such a sweet couple, such fun friends and family.

On Saturday, the ceremony was at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, with a reception at Pacific Palms Hotel.

Such a fun, family-filled wedding ….
