The love and friendship between these two was so touching to see …. and the support of their families truly warmed my heart!

This couple’s story is sweet – they met “by accident.” Literally. She rear-ended him on a SoCal freeway and he charmed his way into a date I guess

Due to scheduling and locations, I didn’t join [b]ecker (and Cody, the other 2nd photographer from the [b] school) until not long before the ceremony.

I feel like I didn’t really get to shoot the whole story since I missed the getting ready part, but the ceremony and reception were both so gorgeous.

The reception was held at Pacific Palms Resort. Cocktail hour, toasts, salads …and a Korean wedding ceremony to honor the groom’s family.

Such a sweet couple, such fun friends and family.

I forget where I found the link (maybe Green Wedding Shoes?) but I sent Kaitlin a link to an engagement shoot with a big bunch of balloons and she LOVED it.

I love when couples really think about details in their photo shoots. Not just matching shirts, or a pretty location. But adding balloons, or bicycles, or a pet or an activity like cooking, wine-tasting, theme park engagement portraits …. it’s all so fun. Just takes a little bit of brainstorming to come up with little details that help personalize your relationship.

These photos of Katie and Joe make me especially happy. …. I love how in love they are. I love how Joe can be such a great marine and fire-fighter but doesn’t mind being a little goofy with Kaitlin because it makes her laugh.

I love their relationship.

I love that their my siblings now.

I love love love Disneyland. I grew up in Southern California, and there was a stretch of time growing up when I was at the park at least once a year.

Andrew and I even went to Disneyland for our honeymoon – although, we were living in AZ at the time, so it was more of a trip than it would be now. AND I was in Grad school at the time and couldn’t take a lot of days off….

ALSO – Disneyland is the place where I learned how to use a camera properly …

I’m the kind of person who learns by doing, so one visit a few years ago, I visited the park just with Andrew for the day …. I put my camera on the ‘manual’ setting and just forced myself to learn how to do it.

Perfect situation, really, since it was low-pressure, but still an all day opportunity with tons of different lighting to experiment with (like inside the Haunted Mansion).

Best thing I ever did.

Ever since then, I’ve shot 100% manual (OK, so I use Auto-Focus) and I couldn’t love it more.

Also ever since then, I’ve accumulated a collection of photos from Disneyland that are more than your typical snapshots.

And I LOVE them.

I could decorate a child’s bedroom with some of these … Disney decor? What do you think?

Below is just a small handful from my most recent visit in September 2009.

But between Disneyland and California Adventure, there are so many opportunities to really see the magic and see the details and capture the design/art that are so inherent in these parks.

I might just have to throw us a few fabulous anniversary parties over the years to take advantage.

Recently, helping Angela and Devo research locations for their California reception (the wedding will be in Italy!) I can across the Jim Henson Studios.

One thing you should know about me: I LOVE the Muppets. I love the actual Muppet characters, and I love the genius behind producing Muppet shows/movies. I eat up anything to do with Jim Henson. I have books and books. I went to a museum exhibit on Jim Henson. I actually toyed with the idea of writing my Masters thesis about Jim Henson and the Muppets (related to material culture, etc).

When I found out that you can host an event at Jim Henson Studios … I almost cried with joy.

Someday, that will be me.

It pains me how cute they are.

This is the couple whose wedding I will be shooting in Italy in October … CAN.NOT. WAIT.

Beth is the sister of another good friend of ours, so recently (with the wedding and Eleanor’s bday) Andrew and I have really become part of the family (whether they like it or not!)

The wedding was on a Sunday afternoon in Las Vegas at a venue called Rainbow Gardens.

The first part of the day was filled with portraits (which I absolutely could not have gotten done w/o Beth and Jenny’s friend Ally! thank you!) …

(I think I’m just going to let the images speak for themselves … take a look and let me know what you think!)

This wedding was so much fun! I’ll tell you more about it as we go … but suffice to say that friends and family are what really make weddings entertaining! Everyone there supporting Nick and Cora obviously love them so much. … it was fantastic.

We started out with just some photos of the wedding party getting ready …

Nick and Cora saw each other just for a few moments before the ceremony. Neither of them seemed nervous at all, but this special moment was just for them. Just as they are about to walk down the aisle …
