O.k. so the frame wall and the waves and rowboat are a perfect spark for a new business. Find some cheap warehouse space in the glutted market, hire some unemployed set builders and designer and start a business doing engagement photos, family photos, etc. with a half dozen or so cool/fun sets. The only drawback is that it wouldn’t be natural light, but then, those kinds of sets aren’t meant for that anyway.
Maybe you could see if there are a few photographers who’d be willing to go in on the cost in exchange for a set amount of time to use the sets.
Just do it.
And you wouldn’t have to worry about the weather “washing out” a photo shoot. I’ll bet your uncle could give you some names of designer/builders. Imagine all the things that they could dream up. O.k. here’s another idea. Maybe you can even find set design places that would let you rent their sets by the day. That’s no investment on your part…except for the lighting equipment that you’d need.
