December is always busy.
And I love it.
My parents’ wedding anniversary is in December and there were so many years they weren’t really able to celebrate because there was just too many other things going on in December.
Here is just a quick snapshot of how Andrew and I have been spending December …. not even counting our actual Christmas and New Years plans coming up in the next couple weeks …
Weekend after Thanksgiving (not *technically* December, but still):
I traveled with my mother-in-law Julie (pictured below) north to Gustine, CA to visit her sister and family. Andrew’s cousin (Julie’s niece) was singing at their church so it seemed like the perfect weekend.
We spent 2 days crocheting, cooking, watching their dog do some fun tricks, and just hanging out …. Nice and relaxing family time.
How the Grinch Stole Christmas – The Musical:
Speaking of my awesome mother-in-law, she is always thinking up fun family things for us all to do together (with all of her kids and their significant others, there are 8 of us now). The first weekend in December she got tickets for us all to see Sunday matinee of this fun (kids) Christmas musical.
If there is one thing you should know about me is that I LOVE musicals. Love love love.
SO, um, yea. I had a ton of fun.
Pangea in the studio:
Andrew had several nights with the recording studio to himself, so he brought in local Los Angeles band Pangea to record some songs. I think they got through …. 8 or more? Really a ridiculous number of songs in just 3 or 4 days.
Apparently some label in Washington is going to release them all on a cassette. I don’t know any more details, though.
Eleanor turns 2:
The most amusing little girl – a daughter of some friends of ours – turned 2 this December. That means messy cake eating, sugar rush, sugar crash, and wildly distracted gift opening.
It was pretty hilarious, really
Andrew’s work holiday party:
So much fun! He only works with 5 other guys, so even with all the wives/girlfriends present there were only 11 of us.
Wine and gift exchanging. Limo. Dinner at Capo. Limo. Bowling. Limo. Night-cap. home.
Literally 9 hours all told. For a “work holiday party.” So so fun.
Fun, styled engagement shoot:
Can’t say much more than that. The pics are under wraps for a few weeks.
Rest assured, you’ll LOVE them.
More holiday images to come!
