Busy busy week when you live in SoCal with only one car.
My husband got in a “traffic collision” (“Because ‘accident’ implies there is no one at fault” – Hot Fuzz) last Friday. He’s totally fine. Sore muscles and some bruises for a few days, but nothing broken, no blood. He’s pretty much totally recovered.
He’s spent the last week searching for cars. Online, mostly. Because of his job he HAS to have a car. It is not an option to carpool or take public transportation.
He started out really specific about the make/model/year he was interested in – but ended up searching just for a specific $$ amount within a 10 mile radius.
Let me tell you, it’s not fun to have to buy a car ASAP. To not have the luxury of being picky and really looking around.
4 of the 5 days this week he had to drive me around to where I needed to be – because he needed the car to go to his ‘test driving’ appointments.
Luckily (for both of us) he bought a car yesterday. 1996 Honda Accord. That is spending the weekend at the mechanic’s getting its oil changed and other minor maintenance.
I definitely made sure to go with him after the ‘collision’ to get some pics.
Hopefully I never have this “opportunity” again.
Notes: the airbag activated. The 20-some year old airbag.
At the lot, they had to have the car up on a jack because the wheel was at such a bad angle the whole car would have been on the ground.
